ICT has three components: information technology equipment (computers and related hardware); communications equipment; and software. Website headers are a central part in designing a website. They play a key role in grabbing the users’ attention and establishing a connection with the website’s visitors. In information technology, header refers to supplemental data placed at the beginning of a block of data being stored or transmitted. In data transmission, the data following the header is sometimes called the payload or body.

It is vital that header composition follows a clear and unambiguous specification or format, to allow for parsing.

  • E-mail header: The text (body) is preceded by header lines indicating sender, recipient, subject, sending time stamp, receiving time stamps of all intermediate and the final mail transfer agents, and much more.[1][2]

Similar headers are used in Usenet (NNTP) messages, and HTTP headers.

  • In a data packet sent via the Internet, the data (payload) are preceded by header information such as the sender's and the recipient's IP addresses, the protocol governing the format of the payload and several other formats. The header's format is specified in the Internet Protocol.
  • In data packets sent by wireless communication, and in sectors of data stored on magnetic media, typically the header begins with a syncword to allow the receiver to adapt to analog amplitude and speed variations and for frame synchronization.
  • In graphics file formats, the header might give information about an image's size, resolution, number of colors, and the like.
  • In archive file formats, the file header might serve as a fingerprint or signature to identify the specific file format and corresponding software utility.
  • In some programming languages (for example C and C++) the functions are declared in header files.

Flick Headers: Euro 2012 is a fun and addicting soccer head-tennis game where you have to play against the computer in a quirky one-on-one game of ‘football tennis’. You don’t have to score goals, or show off fancy flicks, you simply have to head the ball back and forth over a highly-placed net – landing it on the opponent’s side to score! This delightfully simple 1-player game follows the tournament structure of Euro 2012 – you can compete as a player from any one of your favorite European football super-heavyweights such as Spain, Italy, Germany or Portugal. It’s an even playing field (each team has one player per side), so even weaker nations have a chance!

This funny ball game will really test your quick reactions, as you have to dash around on your side of the net to make sure you keep the ball off the ground. There are also cool power-ups to collect, and fun animations that are brought to life by the eccentric graphics. Are you ready to lead your chosen country to Flick Header glory? Good, it’s time to ‘get your head in the game’!

How to Play: First, you have to choose the country you want to play as (it can be any one of the 16 teams that competed in the Euro 2012 soccer tournament). Each match-up lasts for 90 seconds (2 halves of 45 seconds each). In that time, you have to score as many points as possible by making the ball land on your opponent’s side of the net. You can move your player using your computer mouse or the Arrow Keys on your keyboard. If you are using your mouse, the player follows the movement of your cursor. Left Click to make him jump into the air. If using the Arrow Keys, hit Left and Right to move, and the Up Arrow to jump.

The ball will bounce into the air if it hits off your head – but you get a better shot from a jumping header. You are allowed to head the ball 3 times on your side of the net. If you head it more than three times, it’s a ‘Foul’ – and your opponent scores a point. Coins appear in the air at different intervals. Head the ball at them to earn these Coins, which can then be used to purchase Power-ups. These Power-ups include a Trampoline to help the ball stay in the air, a Helmet to give you a stronger shot and a bigger head, and more. You can purchase them during or after the match, depending on the amount of Coins you have. Click on the icons at the bottom of the game screen if you have enough to purchase a Power-up.

If a match finishes as a draw – it goes to Extra-time, where one point wins the game for either team. Keep winning your matches to advance through the Group Stages and into the Knockout Phase. Try to get all the way to the Final for your chance to win the Flick Header Championship.
